Wilma 'Jean' Nolting

Wilma Jean Nolting, age 82 of Clinton, died on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Sharon Lane Health Service in Shawnee, KS.

Jean was born on December 10, 1929 to Benjamin Tenholder and Annette Swaters Tenholder of Montrose, MO. She graduated from the St. Francis Academy in Nevada, MO. Jean married Claude L. Nolting, Jr. on October 26, 1948 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. Jean also worked for a time as a loan officer at Blue Valley Savings and Loan. As her daughters grew up, Jean was active as a leader of the Campfire Girls, member of the Buckner City Council and President of the local PTA. After moving back to Clinton, she joined the United Methodist Church, was a member of the Historical Society and Twilight Garden Club. Claude and Jean shared a love for nature. Their property in Clinton is listed as a National Bird Sanctuary.

Surviving is her husband Claude of the home; 2 daughters, Cheryl Bohner (Terry) of Merriam, KS and Donna Haney (Jim) of Richmond, VA; 4 grandchildren, Logan Bohner, Heather McGee, Rachel Haney, and Courtney Smith; 3 siblings, Willard Tenholder, Charles Tenholder and Dorothy Harrison. Jean is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Clinton Chapter and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
