Jesse Herbert Bray, age 82 of Clinton, MO, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
Jesse was born in Lowry City, MO on April 25, 1929 to Arthur Bray and Jessie ‘Walters’ Bray. "Herbie" grew up near the Osage River along with 13 siblings. Jesse's family moved to Clinton, MO where he started work at young age at the local hatchery. He later married the love of his life, Doris J. Beebe. Together they raised 5 children. Jesse worked in construction, sales, and many years as a self-employed contractor installing windows and doors for Columbia Glass and Window. After retiring, he continued to work as a self-employed handy man for many customers in the Kansas City area. Jesse will be remembered as a kind, generous, loving father and grandfather, loved by all who knew him.
Surviving Jesse are 4 sons, Herb Bray (Ramona) of Independence, MO, Fred Bray (Janet) of Harrisonville, MO, Randy Bray (Terri) of Kansas City, MO, and Rod Bray (Holly) of Midlothian, TX; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Goans (Bob) of Lawrence, KS, and Thelma Hubbard of Lowry City, MO; 2 brothers, Joseph Harold Bray of Salem, OR, and Arnold Bray (Rosie) of Holden, MO; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 58 years, a daughter, Debbie Burnette; 6 sisters, and 3 brothers.
The family will receive visitors at Consalus Funeral Home, Clinton, MO on Sunday, April 15th from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M., followed by a funeral service at 4:00 P.M. A private family interment (burial) will take place on Monday, April 16th at the Englewood Cemetery of Clinton. Procession will begin at Consalus Funeral Home @ 9:45 with an escort.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Twin Lakes Hospice and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
