Viola Mae Titus

Viola Mae (Cliffman) Titus, 81, of Clinton, Missouri passed away early Thursday morning, September 7, 2017 peacefully at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born August 10, 1936 in Sheldon, Missouri the daughter of Henry Augusta Cliffman and Helen Irene (Hornecker) Cliffman.

Viola married Charles "Charlie" “C.A.” Allen Titus on June 27, 1953 in Bronaugh, Missouri.  He preceded her in death in 1983.  She worked several different types of occupations over the years, including a school cook at Clinton Schools and nurse's aide at Westwood Nursing Home, but could always be found assisting Charlie on the farm or at Clinton Truck Line.  Like many of her friends, the highlight of her week often times was to visit the local beauty shop.  She and Charlie frequently took pleasure in playing cards with their local friends and visiting the Lake.

Viola and Charlie had three children; Victor Allen Titus and his wife, Debby of Farmington, NM; Bruce Wayne Titus and his wife, Patty of Copeland, KS; and Christina "Christy" Marie Landsberg and her husband, Chris of Tightwad, MO. She had nine grandchildren; Matthew Titus, Jacque Ferguson, Paul Landsberg, LaChrisha Gray, Kiefer Titus, John "Mac" Titus, Helen Titus, Martha Titus, and Margaret Titus. She had eleven great-grandchildren; Melissa Pierce, Michael Pierce, Paul Jay Landsberg, Alan Landsberg, Avery Titus, Andrew Titus, Alexis Titus, Bella Titus, Joey Ferguson, Jackson Ferguson, and Dallas Gray.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Cliffman, her brother Vernon Cliffman and his wife Carolyn, her son Bruce Titus, her son-in-law, Chris Landsberg, her grandchild Margaret Titus, and great-grandchild Joey Ferguson.

Viola was loved and cared for by many friends and family.  Over the past several years, she had grown especially close to Jennifer Stephens, who she grew to love as family.

The family would like to thank the many caretakers and service providers that have cared for Viola, especially during her last years.

Visitation services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Consalus Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri with graveside services at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Sheldon, Missouri Cemetery with Don Eaton officiating.  Honorary pallbearers are Mike Banes, Ed Morris, Billy Ray Cliffman, Paul Clark, and Chuck Dahmer.

Gloria Burke

So sorry to hear about Viola. We are Robert and Gloria Burke and we have lived in the former home of Viola and Charles for over 30 years now, on Booth Road. I talked to her a lot when she lived in Clinton, and told her what changes we had made in the home. I know it is very hard to give her up, but she can rest now and be with Charles . Please accept our sincere condolences.
