Obituary for Robert "Bob" A Wilson

Robert Allen (Bob) Wilson was born December 21, 1943 to Allen E. (Doc) Wilson and Wanda J. (Church) Wilson.

He passed from this life on August 10, 2019, while watching the Kansas City Chiefs first pre-season game.He was baptized and grew up in the Lutheran Church and Clinton Schools graduating in 1961.

From an early age he was designing go carts, then crusing the square in his ’49 Ford.  He was an original member of the Straight Aways Car Club, and finally turned a 1935 Ford Coupe into a street rod from an Oldsmobile engine and fence row parts.

During high school Bob worked the projection booth at the Lee Theatre and Hwy 52 Drive-In Theatre, loved pep band and Dance Band, organized one of Clinton’s first garage bands, The Vicounts, who made a few records, and after graduation traveled with Tom Blair and The West Coasters for about a year.

In June 1964 he married his High School sweetheart, Linda Williams and was very proud of daughter, Dianna and son, Daniel.  He then worked at Stewart Nattinger window Factory, Browning Moving & Storage, farmed with brother-in-law, John Williams, was foreman and diesel mechanic for Williams Rock Mining Co., owned, managed and maintained a mobile home park (first rental experience) and finally was the maintenance tech at Kenton Place Apartments.

Family and friends were precious to him especially at Christmas time.  For 12 plus years Bob provided music as the Wilson home opened for all friends and old classmates the Saturday evening before Christmas.

All his life, even after severe health issues, Bob felt laughter and his deep faith was the only way to deal with life battles.  He loved music, skiing, rabbit, duck, and deer hunting, fishing, golfing and harassing grandkids whenever they were around!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Wanda. Surviving along with his wife, are Dianna Ehlert, of Odessa, MO, Daniel and Kim Wilson, Perkasie, PA, and grandchildren, Jazton Ehlert, of Odessa and Emily, Samantha, Jason, Nathan, Dean and Lily Wilson, Perkasie, PA.  Also, surviving are 2 brothers, Bill, of Billings, MO, and Gary, Clinton; 3 sisters Marlene/Mike Keyes, Denise/Richard Lee, Holt’s Summit, MO and Glenna Lawson, Clinton; plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial Service is Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Consalus Funeral Home, with Steve Blacksher officiating, at 11:00 AM.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Clinton United Methodist Church or any cause of your choice.Music provided by The Vicounts & Tom Blair & The West Coasters.
