Obituary for Howard 'Lloyd' Carnine

Howard ‘Lloyd’ Carnine, age 97, of the Veteran’s Home in Warrensburg, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019.

Lloyd was born November 25, 1921 to Charles Carnine and Mary Viola ‘Willcox’ Carnine of Emporia, KS. Lloyd attended and graduated from Emporia High School. Lloyd enlisted in the Navy on July 11, 1942. He served in the American Theatre and the European African Middle East. After separation from the Navy on December 24, 1945, he went to work and married Margaret ‘Peggy’ on May 28, 1950 in Seneca, KS. He attended College of Emporia and received a Bachelor's of Science in Business. After a long career, Lloyd worked his final 14 years as a custodian at First United Methodist Church, Coffeyville, KS, retiring November 30, 1999 at the age of 78. He held a dual membership in Keystone Lodge #103, Coffeyville and Index Lodge #54, Garden City, MO. He also was a past member of O.E.S, White Shrine, and Mirza Shrine.

Survivors include four daughters, Delene Scott, Marjorie Beasley, Charlotte (Joe) Dennis and Sondra (Robert) Hall; grandchildren, Rusty, Jason, Rose, Clint, Kaylea, Jacob, Mark and Angela; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Edwin and Charles; a sister, Martha; sons-in-law, Keith Beasley and James Scott.

The family will receive visitors at Consalus Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a Masonic service. Funeral service will commence on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., followed by Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Emporia, KS at 2:30 p.m.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Masonic Home of Missouri and may be left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
